You are...
what you eat.
what you read.
what you watch.
what you listen.
what you drive.
I am ...
a chicken rice aficionado
an omnivorous reader.
a cartoon addict.
an all rounder music listener.
a local car supporter.
Translation : I am one mean annoying immature at time eternal optimist.
You are who you think you are.
So who are you?

Gluttony
Fasting month is rich with everything, it is rich with religious activities, it is rich with self revelation and soul searching, and it is rich with variety of food. Yesterday, my family and I went out to break fast by invitation of a close friend of my family. The place that we went were not that shabby in terms of the deco. as well as the massive variety of food that they offered, but surprisingly when we arrived half and hour before breaking fast, the food was depleting at a very fast pace. I viewed around and I saw the amount of food on other people's tables were high as the mountain and as wide as the sea, I think I mumbled "Man, that food can actually feed an army" because the number of people dining over it were not as many.
My family and I managed to get food on our plate and we just dined away. Once finished dining, I took a look around and a waved of emotions swept through when I looked at the leftovers, some were not even finished, they just wasted it away. The tag line "All you can eat" does not imply take everything and leave others nothing.

Opss.......
There's a culture currently plaguing my department which at times I find it quite amusing. It's the culture of blaming others for what that can be considered as your own fault. Recently the issues arised in the form of format for examination questions as well as the quality of the question itself. I didn't mean to intrude on the discussion but I was itching to say something in defend of the examination department because it wasn't their fault. The quality of the exam questions were put into question due to vague instructions, in the midst of my two colleagues heated blaming sessions; I stopped my work, and said "In the first place, who designed the question? Was it the exam department or our department? It is an English paper isn't it?" And then it was silent.

Memory lane...
"A moment lasts all of a second, but the memory lives on forever" (www.buzzle.com)
I was brought down memory lane two days ago when my father said that in Terengganu there's a stall selling "Murtabak Maggie". Many people may heard of such delicacy other may raised their eyebrows (Ziana Zain style). I was introduced to "Murtabak Maggie" 12 years ago, by my dorm mate, Arnida Hani, she even taught me how to prepare it. The simplicity of the ingredients with a quite delicious outcome. All the sudden I remembered the fasting months that I spend with my dorm mates during my matrix years, the food that I learnt to prepare and cook with limited ingredients as well as utensil. I learnt to use the rice cooker to cook "Nasi goreng Sardin", "Tomyam" "Steamboat", "Murtabak Maggie" and even fried fish and eggs, the water heater was used to boil eggs, and the most interesting thing was using the iron to make toast.
Back then, creativity has no limits when it came to experimenting with food. I guess being not financially secure for most of us, and having to rely only on scholarship with RM 600.00 (as wang sara diri) per semester, a small budget for books, assignments, travel and food, we learn to adapt and make the best of everything and create unforgettable memories.
It's my first post after taking time out, and I am talking about food. Hehehehe. Happy fasting everyone.
