Toys

"Topik di radio pagi ini....Pengaruh barat dalam permainan kanak - kanak yang memberi kesan negatif pada anak - anak...Contohnya barbie....angry bird...ultraman....Etc, semoga saya dan kalian bijak memilih permainan untuk membentuk anak - anak yang cemerlang dunia dan akhirat" (Facebook)

This was on my friend's wall, I wanted to comment at it, but knowing her I know I would end up deleting her like I deleted a friend before for picking a fight over a comment I made on her status.  I am not  a mother, neither I am married, so this is solely my opinion. I don't agree with the statement, because for me toys are what develop our imagination and creativity. I know that there are other toys but seeing how people are reacting over things I bet even "Lego" would actually be banned for promoting and encouraging children to experiment, because they may end up building a make believe bomb or a gun, by putting the pieces together.  Yes, children are impressionable, but it doesn't give us the right to rob them of their innocent. I grew up with playing toys of convenience, I played police and robbers, soldiers with homemade riffle and gun made out of bamboo and pegs. I played barbie (my neighbor gave it to my sister) and I even played Teenage mutant ninja turtle, I played "masak - masak" and end up burning down a tree. None of the above made me to be a gun crazed - barbie loving - personality disorder  - arsonist teenager, I turn up just fine. Maybe I am just babbling for nothing, just let children be children, don't let them grow so fast than they should, let them enjoy life.

Like I said this is solely my opinion.

Let children be children.

Yup. They grow up real fast.

I think people over-think stuff like this. These are the people who would say playing Monopoly will make their children into buck-thirsty corporate raiders.

What happens when their children play Scrabble, the dirty rotten Western game? They might be literate!

Quelle horreur!

Glad u agree. I don't really understand where they come out with all those justifications, it's kinda annoying, don't play this, don't play that, they are just harmless toys and games, quit feeding illogical theory in our children' mind.

people love to waste their life drawing unnecessary lines instead of living it to the fullest - explore, experience, feel n learn!
