Marry me, marry me..ohhh please marry me!!!!

Don't get me wrong this is not a plea for me to get someone to marry me, it is just a topic that is currently being discussed by people all around me. 

Had conversation recently with a guy friend and how he expressed his concern about finding someone to settle down with. He is way younger than I am but he feels the pressure of settling down and currently doing so to ease his parents' heart on wanting to see him with a family. I don't blame his parents they mean well. However I sympathize with him, he has planned his future of furthering his study, opening a business and ensuring stability in his life before embarking into another responsibility, and now he is rerouting it. Not just him, another friend  desperately wants to settle down because the rest of his friends and families are either married or engaged, and being alone during reunions is not what he is looking for this year. An acquaintance, who is not yet 30, is being pimped out to any women who is interested to settle down within this year, in order to achieve the aim that was set on him of having a wife and children before the age of 30. 

Nowadays when it comes to marriage, women are not the only feeling the pressure even guys as well and the expectation that is being put at times can be overwhelming, it seems that life is not complete until you are married and have children.

I am grateful that my parents don't force me or cave into pressure being put to them by my relatives or neighbors however I do know that silently they really want us to be with someone. But let it be because we want to, not because we have to. I guess now marriage life is like playing music chair, once the music stop you will just have to sit where there is an empty sit. Just settle down to the next best thing. *sigh*
