Nasi Lemak....Nasi Lemak

Being melodramatic today. Saw "Cerekarama" last night, kinda brought me back to the days of my primary school years where I helped my mum to pack and sell "Nasi Lemak". Rode on the motorcycle with my dad early morning just to send the packed nasi lemak to a hawker stall not far from home. Brought some to my school and my school bag was full of pre - ordered nasi lemak (because I wanted to earn some extra pocket money for myself).

The "Nasi Lemak" was so famous that it overshadowed the "makcik" canteen and I used tupperware, so that it looked like the students brought it from home. No matter how elusive I was, but still "Kantoi!!" I was called to the principal office, reprimended for selling the "Nasi Lemak" because "makcik" canteen made a report, the selling graph of her "Nasi Lemak" was declining day by day.

It was just a slap on the wrist because some of the teachers and the principal ordered from me. Hehe

Still remember the promo line I used, "Tupperware biru RM 0.50 telur lebih + Ikan masin, Tupperware Pink RM 0.30, biasa je".

Back then, RM 0.50 was a lot for us to take as pocket money, now, if it is not red (RM 10), the minimum would be green (RM 5), in the future maybe more who knows, I do wonder sometimes.

Wow! You were definitely an enterprising child. And I love the tupperware business model; very eco-friendly!

Hahaha, I was business minded back then. Always thinking how to maintain customers loyalty and increase my profit..

No lah...the tupperware idea to avoid being caught red handed selling food in the school area.

If I was in your school, I'd probably be one of your loyal customers. *grin*

I am impressed at your entrepreneur-mindedness. In primary school, all I cared about was the cartoon on tv and how to be on top in my playground politics. :p

Cartoon?? Watching them was my fav. past time activitiy, believe it or not, I missed watching those old cartoons, voltron, saber rider and the star sheriff, and even teenage mutant ninja turtle. hehehe.

Sayang, u r were not in my school, mesti hari2 ada order.. :p

Saber Rider was my first inkling that one can fall in love with an anime character. Thankfully, after that, all my crushes are restrained to the 3D variety (although at great distance).

Voltron was another favourite. It was only when I am an adult that I realise how disturbing Gigi's concept was (the little girl who had an adult alter ego). *grin*

Since your mum is in Seremban, I am betting you are a N9er and thus, we were not in the same school ever. *cries*

Hahaha, it's owkey, I can always give you a taste of my mum's famous nasi lemak. BTW, I am an army brat, we reside in N9 when I was 11 years old. ;p

Hahaha, so true. But we were young we don't think much about that, all we know were just enjoying ourself watching cartoons day in and day out. *remember playing make believe as a ninja turtle*
