I went to a conference today, that covered the topic of language, culture and literacy. I enjoyed myself to the max by listening to paper presentations and I did managed to engage in interesting discussions with some of the presenters. I was especially intrigue with topics involving gender equality, preserving indigenous language, as well as approaches of teaching something as taboo as sex education through the usage of language and literature. A presenter presented a topic that encourage teachers or lecturers to be social activists especially in all issues involving women, such as domestic violent and sexual harassment. Even the usage of blogs as tool and medium were highly encourage. When she quoted this, automatically I remembered a blog that I accidentally hopped and now becoming an avid follower. The posters that were put indirectly encourage me to consider creating creative class activities that would make my students "rebels with cause". So I thank you "snuze' for making an activist out of a pessimist.

Oh my! *blushes*
I believe that good and dedicated teachers are not easy to find, so we should encourage them to keep on course and be all that they can be.
Happy Teacher's Day, darling!
